Word الدَّوَابِّ is the plural of دَابَّةٍ which means Living creature including all animals and human being:
Allah has created every Living creature (دَابَّةٍ) from water. So, some of them move on their bellies; some of them move on two legs, and some of them move on four. The Living creature (دَابَّةٍ) moving on the earth, and bird flying on its two wings, are all communities like you.
The heavens and the earth were combined, Allah has separate them, He created the skies without the pillars and placed Mountain range on the earth, lest it not shakes with you, and spread over it all kinds of Living creatures (دَابَّةٍ) means animals and human being, Allah has bestowed dignity on the children of ’Adam and made them much superior to many of those whom He have created.
Surely, the worst of all the Living creatures (الدَّوَابِّ), in the sight of Allah, are those who reject and do not believe. Surely, the worst of all the Living creatures (الدَّوَابِّ), in the sight of Allah are those deaf and dumb who do not understand, had Allah seen in them some good, He would have made them listen, but if He makes them listen, they will turn away paying no heed. If Allah were to take mankind to task for what they did, then He would have not left a Living creature (دَابَّةٍ) on the back of earth, but He delays them up to an appointed time. So when their time will come, then Allah will see His slaves. When the word will come to fall upon them, Allah will bring forth for them a Living creature (دَابَّةً) from the earth who will speak to them that the people did not believe in Allah's Verses with certainty.
Allah says:
Allah has created every Living creature (دَابَّةٍ) from water. So, some of them move on their bellies; and some of them move on two legs, and some of them move on four. Allah creates what He wills. Surely, Allah is powerful over everything.
(24:45)
The Living creature (دَابَّةٍ) moving on the earth, and bird flying on its two wings, they are all communities like you. We have not missed anything in the Book. Then, to their Lord all of them shall be gathered.

Did the disbelievers not observe that the heavens and the earth were combined, then We separate them??? And We created from water every living thing. Would they still not believe???
