The distance between two things is called a Hijaab.
Hijaab refers to a distance, that is set by the range of distance, the dissent and modesty or hesitation.

(1): The Range of Distance:

Allah does not speak to any human being, except by the way of revelation, the range of distance and by a messenger.
Allah says:
It is not for a human being that Allah speaks to him, except by way of revelation, or from behind a Hijaab (by the range of distance), or that He sends a messenger, and he reveals, with His permission, what He wills. Surely, He is All-High, All-Wise.

(2): The Dissent:

The difference between the dissent of two people is called a Hijaab.
Allah says:
And they say, “Our Qalb are in covers against that to which you invite us, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a Hijaab (dissent) between you and us. So, do (in your way). We too are doing (in our own way)”.

(3): The Modesty or Hesitation:

Whenever you ask anything from the wives of the Prophet ask them by maintaining modesty or hesitation. That is better for the purity of your and their Qalb.
Allah says:
O you who believe, do not enter the houses of the Prophet, unless you are permitted for a meal, not to wait for its preparation. But when you are invited, go inside. Then, once you have had the meal, just disperse, and do not sit in a friendly chat. This hurts the Prophet, but he feels shy of you, but Allah is not shy of the truth. And when you ask anything from them, ask them from behind a Hijaab (by maintaining modesty or hesitation). That is better for the purity of your and their Qalb. It doesn't allow for you that you hurt Allah’s Messenger, nor that you ever marry his wives after him. Indeed, it would be an enormity in the sight of Allah.

THE HIJAAB COMMANDS FOR THE BELIEVERS:

The commands of the Hijaab are same for both men and women, Allah says, both men and women should lower their vision means control their faculty of being able to see. Allah knows the treachery of the eyes and whatever is concealed by the mind. Whenever men and women make any transaction, they should maintain Hijaab among themselves, speak straight and clear in an honorable manner. Women should take on their shawls over their head and bosom so they recognize respectable, hence not teased. Allah has sent down the dress and the dress of Taqwa is the best.
Allah says:
Tell the believing men that they must lower their vision and guard their private parts; it is more decent for them. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what they do.
(24:30)
And tell the believing women that they must lower their vision and guard their private parts, and must not expose their adornment, except that which appears thereof, and must wrap their bosoms with their shawls, and must not expose their adornment, except to their husbands or their fathers or the fathers of their husbands, or to their sons or the sons of their husbands, or to their brothers or the sons of their brothers or the sons of their sisters, or to their women, or to those owned by their right hands, or male attendants having no urge, or to the children who are not yet conscious of the shames of women. And let them not stamp their feet in a way that the adornment they conceal is known. And repent to Allah, O believers, all of you, so that you may achieve success.
(24:31)
He knows the treachery of the eyes and whatever is concealed by Mind.

O women of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. if you observe Taqwa, then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose Qalb is a disease should be moved with desire, but speak in an honorable manner.
(33:32)
O prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers that they should draw down their shawls over them. That will make it more likely that they are recognized, hence not teased and Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful.
(33:59)
O children of ’Adam, We have sent down to you the dress that covers your shame and provides adornment. As for the dress of Taqwa, that is the best. That is from the verses of Allah, so that they may get admonition.
